Your Teachers:

Paul Mason

Paul is a Paddle Canada Patron and instructor trainer with almost 50 years of canoeing and instructing experience. Which includes canoeing with Pierre Trudeau, Rick Mercer and Bob Rae. He’s the son of Canadian canoe icon Bill Mason and appeared in his "Path of the Paddle" instructional books and films on canoeing. He co-authored the instructional canoeing book "Thrill of the Paddle”.
His background also includes: competing internationally in open canoe whitewater freestyle competition and canoe slalom national championships.
He offers instructional moving water canoe courses for intro. to advanced canoeists.
Paul is an anglophone but speaks “canoeing” which is a universal language.

Jeff Thuot

With more than 40 years of experience as a guide and canoe teacher, Jeff Thuot is one of Canada's best instructors. Known for his work with the Quebec Canoe & Kayak Federation, collaboration with many manufacturers Including Esquif and his outdoor teaching at the Saint-Laurent College for decades. Join Jeff to strengthen your stroke and get inspired to reach new boundaries in your canoe.

Pierre Desjardins

Since 1984, Pierre Desjardins has a been guiding and teaching passionate canoeists in the Ottawa-Gatineau area and beyond. Pierre is our reference here at Paddle.ca (and for many others) for questions about rivers and canoeing. Pierre is also a long term contributor to the Pierre Radisson Canoe Club providing support of many facets including wilderness safety & rescue, canoe skills, outfitting and repairs and much more. I love asking Pierre about the many rivers of the area and his adventures. You're always in good hands with Pierre on the river.
